DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW!!!!!

This show is shameful. It solicits and sensationalizes some truly horrific crimes. For example, the one about the former child star who wanted a sex change. This show continually kept referring to him as a former child star, when in actuality he had a small role as an extra in one show...WTF?! Producers, get your facts straight and stop pulling them out of your butts. Another example, everyone knows who the murderer Jody Arias is. We all know she was mental with fake breast implants, but this show insisted on calling her beautiful and gorgeous....um, if you see pictures of this woman, you can see she has a beaver face and her blonde hair is fake; she was clearly trying to be something she was not. Producers, again, please get your facts straight. Stop referring to her as a blonde! I had to go take a shower after watching this show because I felt so slimy. The host, the producers, and anyone who watches this show on a regular basis is seriously deranged and feeding into the media's plan to desensitize and turn you into a mindless, unfeeling drone.

Can't agree more. ID has really gone over the top on shows like this and others such as Bloodlands. They are suppose to be in a documentary form, where they interview people involved in the investigation and do simple reenactments without any dialogue amongst the actors. Instead they glamorize the murderer and give these less than professional actors speaking parts. They should stick to the old stuff, because this new format really Sucks!

reply

How exactly do they glamorize murderers? Because they said she was beautiful? If that's their opinion then that's their opinion and it's their right to have it just like it's your to think that she is a "beaver face" but neither statement is fact nor does it take away from the case. They didn't say she had a beautiful soul. Saying someone is beautiful in no way takes away from the fact that she is a cold blooded murderer and they made that fact very clear. People in fact describe Ted Bundy as handsome and charming but that doesn't mean he wasn't a psychopath so I'm not understanding your point. This show doesn't sensationalize murderers or their crimes. It tells exactly how depraved and scum of the Earth they are. And due to the nature of the show it offers the 7 deadly sins as the basis for their criminal activities. There are also no speaking roles in this show that I can recall. There may be some background arguing noises at best. Lastly, describing Skylar de Leon as a child star is not inaccurate even if he did have a very small role. There are several child actors who have small and/or one time roles and we still refer to them as such so because he was a murderer we wouldn't say the same about them? I think you are nitpicking at things that are insignificant and untrue about this show. Perhaps you are thinking about another TV show that has given murderers a high status on the Charles Manson network but ID very rarely elevates murderers to glory status though some of the shows tend to be cheesy or oversexualized (i.e. Scorned, Heartbreakers).

Filmcritic22,
DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO! LOL!!

JK, I found it funny that you're so dead set on someone else possibly enjoying a show that you don't.

If he was a child and starred in a show; he's a child star, IMO. It didn't bother me like it obviously bothered you. You were able to realize that the "child star" had ONE role; don't you think others are intelligent enough to do that as well, IF they cared at all about the child star; which I don't. I've never heard of him.

We all know she was mental with fake breast implants, but this show insisted on calling her beautiful and gorgeous....um, if you see pictures of this woman, you can see she has a beaver face and her blonde hair is fake

It's funny you should say that. There are TONS of people that find Nicki Minaj and Kim Kartrashian gorgeous BECAUSE of their fake parts. Being fake doesn't mean some people aren't attracted to you.

Do I think she's a bombshell? No. I don't think she's horrible looking either. She looks average and I've seen a couple pictures where she looked better than average. It's all perception. Don't know what a beaver face is. I have no point of reference.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do. I am just a person that appreciates the truth and real beauty. I realize I live in a world where people like you have low expectations and will think people like Kim Kardashian and all the other fake, empty people out there are something special. That is beside the point. I was talking about a tv show. Yes, I used to watch ID quite a bit, but I realized I didn't like their sensationalism when they realized they needed to amplify the smallest bits of fact and blow it out if proportion. No, let me correct you once again. Just because he had a tiny one time role, that does not make him a child "star." Real stars are something entirely different. It was blown up to get people like you to watch their empty, mimic of a show. Thanks for trying, though. You really showed me. Psh. :)

I'm not trying to tell you what to do.

That's hard to believe when you named the initial thread "DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW!!!!!" in ALL CAPS AND BOLDED! So you most certainly were saying "DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW!!!! What else does that mean?

I said in my initial post that I was kidding, however I WAS amused because you didn't want anyone else to watch a show you didn't enjoy. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? You're more than welcome to have an attitude about NOTHING. Enjoy! SMH

I realize I live in a world where people like you...
You don't know jacksh!t about me, dumba$$. You are the one that took an innocuous comment to the next level. I was friendly & jovial. FYI, I've never seen one movie that Kim Kardashian was in. I know who she is because I don't live in a vacuum. You obviously know more about her than I. I am a grandmother and I can assure you I don't spend my time watching Kardashian or Nicki Minaj. I have grandchildren so yes, I know who they are. Does that make me a fan?

I used to watch ID quite a bit, but I realized I didn't like their sensationalism when they realized they needed to amplify the smallest bits of fact and blow it out if proportion.

I don't give a damn WHAT you realized. Nothing you say/realize affects my life.

Just because he had a tiny one time role, that does not make him a child "star...."

I honestly have no idea who you're talking about. My point was that if you knew he only had one role, anyone else that cared would/could have known that as well. I'm not even sure I saw the episode you're talking about. If it was mentioned a bunch of times, as you suggest, it slipped by me. Because you knew the person, you knew they were exaggerating. I would have had no clue and paid no attention to it. Everyone doesn't watch the same shows or know the same actors or their stories/history. If he was in a movie or whatever when he was young I still say he's a child star.

There is some untruth in every thing you watch. Brian Williams has shown us that not even the news/recollections are true. I just can't muster up the righteous indignation you feel. I just starting recording the show lately so may not even have seen the show you're so upset about.

Real stars are something entirely different. It was blown up to get people like you to watch their empty, mimic of a show. Thanks for trying, though.

What are you babbling about NOW? People like me? Again, you know nothing about me; stop pretending that you do. It's pathetic.
You really showed me. Psh. :)

I sure did and I didn't even break a sweat!

If I ever need your opinion on what I should or should not watch; I'll get back to you.

I'm done.

reply

Wow. You are truly ignorant. Thank you for proving my point. You contradicted everything you thought was "proving me wrong" by your extremely long tirade. You obviously care what I think if you are over-analyzing every single word I said! Thanks for the chuckle, grandma. I sincerely appreciate it! Have a nice day! :)

reply

The person the op was referring to was Skylar Deleon. I do not understand why the op is so upset over this series. If you don't like the show, do not watch it. If you see the previews for the show, you know what it is like. I do not like reality shows, so I do not watch them. Many people do like the show, so they watch it. It is that simple. 😺

reply

Absolutely! Why you would watch a show that offends your sensibilities is beyond me. Like you said, if you don't like it don't watch it. It's not that serious.

I also found it amusing that the OP somehow found it insulting to call me grandma. Are grandparents not allowed to have their own opinions? Is my opinion less valuable because I'm a grandma? OP made a fool of him/herself with that comment. In what world is being a grandma an insult, which is clearly what the OP intended? Ignorance is not bliss. I'm fortunate to have my family intact and make no apologies because I'm a grandma. I hope everyone lives to be a grandparent if that's what they want. It's a blessing not an insult.

Lastly, like you, I don't watch shows I don't like. I sure as hell don't go out of my way to go to the forum of a show I dislike to say how much I dislike it. WTH? What NORMAL person goes out of their way to do that? Go figure.

I have no idea who Skylar Deleon is/was and don't care enough to look him up. I've lived my entire life without knowing him and I don't see why I should expend any brain cells on getting to know him. He's obviously had no effect on my life.

reply

You are referring to Skylar Deleon who appeared on Power Rangers once or twice as a child. Dateline did a story on him several years back but they never mentioned anything about a sex change. I guess NBC tries to be careful what they say.

What I don't like about this show is the actors they use to portray the involved parties, look NOTHING like the real people. I guess it sells more when the actors are gorgeous. Many of these real life people were simply average looking.

reply

...the actors they use to portray the involved parties, look NOTHING like the real people.

Uh, that happens A LOT! I happen to love Homicide Hunter: Joe Kenda on ID. Carl Marino who plays him is fine as hell! I mean the man is gorgeous.

Have you SEEN Joe Kenda? I don't think he's the worst looking man on the face of the earth but Carl Marino looks NOTHING like him. He's cute as hell with rippling muscles, a sexy demeanor and always very well-dressed.

I have no problem with that. I know that Carl Marino is not Joe Kenda and is just acting a part. Actually as much as I admire and respect Joe Kenda I am grateful every time Carl Marino shows up! lol

Any movie ever made has someone ACTING or PRETENDING to be someone else. I don't get why that's a big deal.

People that hate it are more than entitled to. It just doesn't bother me. I take it for what it is; a tv show.

reply

Well, it really just has to do with perception.

And yes, Carl Marino is sooooo fiiiine. I did see a picture of Joe from the 70s when he first became an officer. He wasn't the most attractive guy out there but he does have sexy eyes.

reply

I absolutely agree. Perception is everything. I like Kenda's eyes, even now.

reply

Cujokay we need you over on the Cristela forum! There's this guy "Naterdawg" who apparently hates the show with a fervent passion. He goes out of his way to pollute every thread us fans of the show start, constantly saying the show will be cancelled and we are mindless idiots for liking the show.
But what really crossed the line was he went into Parental Advisory section and stated show had nudity, sodomy, etc none of which is remotely true. It's very exhausting

reply

I completely agree. The most annoying part of these shows is how drastically different the actor looks from the real life person. Some are like WOW. W.T.F. anyway in terms of the minute details that crackpot is having her pms about(I assumed it was a woman. Just by how they're wording things and the way the posts read. I may be wrong. I'm not a misogynist promise), I don't pay attention. Yes these types of shows make many mistakes unwittingly in certain facts/info. But seriously they're usually not vital facts. I do agree they make comments about how say if a murder occurred they comment saying we're canvassing for drug addicts... uhh ya know when fingerings suspects. I don't like that cause the fact is most drug addicts are not violent. And second because they generalize and smear the drug addicted populace, and that's not right. They're stomped on enough, don't need watchers feeling like ever prospective "junky" they see is gonna rape rob and murder them. Okay I'm out!

reply

Wow. I have to agree worth the majority on this one. Yes, you're entitled to your opinion (as is everyone else), but you're making a mountain out of a molehill (my opinion) and some of it is illogical and just plain ridiculous (my opinion). Jodi shouldn't be called a blond because she's not a natural blond. If she was blond during the vast majority of the time Travis and his friends knew her, then she was blond - whether or be by bottle or genetics. Do you realize how many people are referred to as blonds but are naturally brunette, reds, or gray-haired? Reds who are naturally blond, etc. Males no sense.

Don't refer to Jodi as beautiful because she had cosmetic enhancements and you think she looks like a beaver. The beaver comment is your opinion as it is the those on the show opinion that she is beautiful. More than one show, journalist, person -even Travis' friends have called her beautiful or at least very attractive. Yes she's a murderer. No one is confusing outer beauty with inner beauty. And since when does having cosmetic enhancement mean a person shouldn't be considered beautiful? If you find any actors beautiful/attractive then there's a good chance you're contradicting yourself on this one.

Every show I've seen cover the story of Skylar has made it clear he had the one role on Power Rangers, yet they still refer to him as a former child star or actor. Again, they may use the word "star", but the viewers have heard about his incredibly short resume.

You say the show should get its facts straight when in truth all of your arguments are opinions. The use of the word "star" is the only thing that can be said is inaccurate and even that isn't worthy of you blasting the show and declaring that no one should watch the show.

reply

I agree - media "sensationalism" has gone way over the top. Referring to a grave-robbing assistant orderly as a 'doctor', a preschool aide who seduced a teenager as a "teacher", showing "nurses" wearing short, low-cut and skintight dresses, and all the other dopey 'spins' they put on situations do nothing but downgrade all of the everyday, regular people out there. Another thing that bugs me is when they stress that the murder victim was a "college student", as if that somehow makes them more worthwhile, and thus the situation more tragic, than if the victim was just a plain and simple blue collar person.

It's as if the producers of these shows think they have to 'dumb down' the story to make it more appealing to the lowlife audience (THEIR assumption) who's watching.
