Does Glen LeBaron Have Asperger's?
This fellow comes across as a textbook case of Asperger's syndrome which is a highly functioning form of autism. It manifests itself in the following ways: The person usually excels at one particular skillset (such as dredging) while being incapable of more ordinary things such as civil discourse, modesty, common courtesy and simple social relations. They often equate their expertise in the one thing they excel at as blanket superiority over everyone else (sound familiar?) A near-total lack of self-awareness breeds an out-of-control ego and the inability to dial-down said ego even in the face of insulting the people around them (also sound familiar?) This is the kind of behavior that for years was given the label of "prodigy" before there was a better understanding of highly functioning autism. Discuss....
