Climate change? Really?

The last thing we need is more propaganda BS on this pseudo science. I hope I'm wrong about the movie, that it isn't a propaganda piece.

I had a friend who asked me to hold some climate change evidence for him but I told him I was going to see this movie. He punched me in the eye.

Now I WISH I had held onto the evidence. This movie is ridiculous, mainly accurate, but in no way able to handle everything.

OP, if you're concerned about people misrepresenting climate change you should contact scientists about it. Ask them to investigate the claims and state their opinion.

I tried it, but after two days of facts I was washed out from the experience. I'll give it a couple of days and try some more.

look, a thread full of morons that flunked science.

OP..the movie is still pretty good..
there are a few "propaganda" moments but overall if ya put it aside its a pretty good movie..
I like in the film where the one scientist says "I'm here to save the world"..pretty arrogant for any human to think the world needs us to save it..

SPOILER ALERT!

You nailed it buddy. This movie is VERY heavy handed on the global warming crap.... oh can't say that anymore, now it is climate change... since the globe is not warming. Next it will be just climate, since the climate isn't changing.

I can get past an idiotic global warming agenda if the movie was good but it isn't. The dialog is almost non-existent. It is like watching an episode of threes company.

On top of that, tension is built by non-stop conflict between characters. They fight over everything, all the time. There may be only a hand full of lines in the whole movie where someone is not bitching about someone else.

Skip this one and watch the 1982 The Thing.

This movie gets a 1 out of 10.

Well, everyone knows the climate never changed until man came along, so obviously we must responsible for it.

Oh, wait, the climate always changed before man came along, quite drastically, too.

So if climate change is bad, and the one thing the climate always does is change, doesn't the logic follow we have to learn how to control the climate by keeping it the same, lest the same bad things that will happen if 'man does it' will happen anyway when nature does it?

(BTW, I have explained it this way to climate change people, you'd be amazed at how angry they get.)

The Earth's atmospheric and and oceanic temperature - averaged over the surface, and over time to remove oscillations such as ENSO - is increasing. This is called "global warming."

Climate change is a necessary, but not sufficient, condition for global warming I.e. if there is global warming then ther must be climate change, but climate change does not necessarily imply global warming.

Both climate change and global warming are happening now.

There. That wasn't so hard, was it?
