Completely STUPID ENDING!!

WTF?! the movie was an ok creature feature flick but where the F did that baby come from and why would moron male and female think it's a good idea to secretly take (and presumably raise/adopt?) said baby? so stupid! if they were bringing back as proof of what was going on then maybe i can see them doing that but the way it's presented (because of her admitted abortion) they plan on raising the baby to replace the aborted one! SO STUPID!

the movie wasn't horrible but it was barely ok. an upcoming movie from FX wiz (ALIENS, TREMORS, etc) Alec Gillis seems like it will be a better version of this movie (but on a boat) is HARBINGER DOWN...

it looks pretty good!

How about you calm yourself down and instead of ranting on a forum and claiming characters to be "Morons" you do this crazy thing calling....thinking ^^
Where do you think the baby came from? It was the mutant growing inside the dog which was a Dog/Human hybrid. The reason they took it could be multiple-fold, but for one the baby was born essentially of the lead male and the dog he loved so taking it doesn't seem like such a crazy notion whether to raise it or just to protect it from the inevitable bullet to the skull it would have recieved had it been found by anyone else. I personally thought it was more than watchable, the creature effects were pretty piss poor in places but for the most part it was a harmless horror/monster flick

totodarlo, get off the OP's case. i agree w/ him/her. the ending w/ the baby was completely stupid. the survivors taking that mutant and raising it.....LOL. the fact you are defending that ending makes you look foolish. if that's you "thinking" then god help us all.

reply

"Get off the OP's case" you mean having a discussion on forums!? lol So what your saying is I'm "Foolish" for having a different opinion than you? Grow the *beep* up

reply

I couldn't agree more with the OP.

What a completely stupid ending to an otherwise horrible movie.

1 out of 10.

reply

I'm sorry but there is just no rationalization for the ending. It was stupid and illogical. No one would keep that baby for any reason whatsoever.

reply

Yeah I would agree and its far better than that rancid pile of trash they passed of as a semi-prequel to The Thing - Harbinger Down.
Poor old Lance henriksen must really need the dough - bit like Clancy Brown and Ron Perlman - they have sold their souls to the straight to video market - shame as they are all great actors! Needs must I guess!

Piss poor creature effects and too much screaming - why does there have to be women screaming all the time in horrors movies these days , it can be really annoying and realyl doesnt add to the horror - Just watch John Carpenters The Thing - hardly any screaming at all and it was *beep* scary even now!

Its uncle Frank Kirsty!
Its time to play!

actually it was a very interesting and original ending

Janek and Tanja had a very strong bond with the dog. Tanja aborted the baby she was going to have, which was Janek's. Tinni birthing this mutant, which was not hostile like the others, was in a sense the dog's final gift to both of them. The baby itself was representative of the child they could have had together in the first place, and the mutant was in itself a hybrid of Janek and his beloved companion. So, in essence, the mutant birthed by the dog was a final gift, returning to them what was lost, and keeping the essence of the dog alive.

It was weird but honestly kind of touching.

reply

There's no real reason to think that the baby won't be hostile. Most animals develop way faster than humans, which is why most of the mutants went nuts as soon as they "hatched".

How many animals take a couple years to learn how to walk? Most are born pretty capable. It was only chill because it's developing slower than the other mutants, IMO.

The baby will be psycho and trying to infect people just like all the other mutants.

reply

You're completely correct. I was thinking through the whole movie that these were the dumbest group of scientists I've ever seen, besides the dude with the beard and maybe his ex GF.

Then they go and do something as dumb as trying to adopt a mutant dog-baby. Why would that mutant be anything but a psycho killer hell bent on infecting other organisms? So stupid....

But, I was entertained by the movie. I was hoping that short hobbit looking Minister lady would die, though. She was so annoying and stupid. Most of her lines made me cringe.

I actually expected to hear the mutant baby go nuts and see the helicopter crash or explode as it flew away, though. But they went with the "monster coming at the screen" ending instead.

Especially considering Janek had been railing against the other scientists throughout the rest of the movie, for trying to cover things up.
I was hoping that short hobbit looking Minister lady would die ...
I thought Tinnie and the Minister were the 2 most appealing characters. Loved it when she called for the scissors.🐭

reply

When Tinja is holding the hybrid at the end in the helicopter I noticed her left eye was red is it just me or does it look like she had a detached retina?

reply

Subconjunctival hemorrhage. A detached retina is usually not externally visible.

They would have perfectly blended into the crew in Prometheus.

reply

What humped the dog to have it end up with the baby? The undead rabid fox???

reply

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how the guy's DNA was involved with the dog...

reply

That the thing, the dog became infected by the fox in the cave to start. So its going to be a fox-dog-human hybrid which will definitely be aggressive considering every other living thing effected ended up aggressive.

To answer your question the dog got Janeks DNA because he hit his head and the dog licked the blood off of his hand.
