It's dubbed in English.

At least it is in the version I'm watching, depending on the viewer that could either be a good thing or a bad thing, I myself prefer to read, but I'll take my German horror any way I can get it. Just a heads up.

Pass. I hate dubbing.

reply

Good, I prefer dubbed movies. When reading subtitles they take your attention away from the image.

reply

Ok, dumbass.

Killer_Movie, i agree w/ you. i'm about 20 minutes in and i had to turn it off because the GOD AWFUL vocal/dub actors they got are ruining what looks like a pretty decent flick. i've been very excited for the movie and that's why i gave the dubbed version a try. i'm probably going to hold off on watching the rest. i'll wait for an original language/subtitled VOD (or DVD) release.

Yea the dubbing royally screwed up any kind of real enjoyment there was to be had in this, it's impossible to settle into every time someone speaks it's jarring, It stops any kind of atmosphere from building up. I should've passed and waited, normally it's the other way around and they don't dub until long after and or it's decided that it has international appeal, the whole "let's dub it in English and we can make more money" but that's usually only if it gets sold for English Tv channels. Why they did it right from the film's release date is a mystery and a bummer.

Anyone else notice - the dark haired girl sounds, dubbed, like Selma Blair?

I wonder if it was her who did the voice?

reply

Any dubbed movie is an insult to a movie. There is no any kind of natural feeling in it, and voices are always unbearable. So I agree and it is not any bad to read.

reply

I thought this was one of the better dubs I've heard, it was still not great but I'd rather see it then wait. I'll watch it again in the original German at some point.

You're a troll.

Thanks for the heads up. I couldn't figure out what was wrong this film. It would have been nice if the film makers tried to do a better dubbing sync with the dialog and the actors emotions.

reply

i just watched it on netflix and the dub was unbearable. i swear they got the same "actors" reading multiple voices. it's a shame because the movie looks fun otherwise.

and is it just me or did they call the dog 3 different names. at the beginning when the dog went in the cave the guy was calling hime titi. then that woman called him timmy and one of the other guys called him tinny.

reply

The dubbing sounded like it was recorded at the initial table read of the script.
