The demo was enough for me

I was at Costco over the weekend and while loitering in the electronics section I saw this game ad on the TV displays. Found the demo on Xbox live and figured it was worth a try since the graphics looked pretty incredible on those huge LCDTV's.

Well I've been gaming a long time and not to insult my favorite side scrollers of yesteryear, I was kind of surprised to find out that is what it is. The depth of the environment had me thinking otherwise. Still a sidescroller in 2015 is pretty lame if you ask me.

The puzzles. Well they are downright frustrating. Not difficult to figure out it is the "jump" of the characters. You might be pressing right or left directionally but your character often will just jump straight up.

The other main issue for me was the in game text. It's practically unreadable. They used some kind of old looking text for everything and I could only make out every other word or so. Pretty difficult when you want to read about possible upgrades. I had to guess when I wanted to leave the demo as to what button to push!

Lastly it feels like more of a young childs type game, but even if I had any, not being a masochist I think I could find them something more fun to play.

Why does it matter if it's a sidescroller? In fact the third game went fully 3d and it was worse for it.
