rosa parks started an equality movement b/c she would not move her seat

were there more pressing issues in the black community than where they got to sit on the bus , i would say so , black crime , black education , black employment....etc yet it was the simple fact that RP demanded be treated equal for something as simple as where she got to sit on the bus which launched the black equality movement in america, like wise are there more pressing issues for women in america yes , but something as simple as demanding the same rights as men to wear or not wear a shirt is representative of the discrimination and unequal treatment of women in america ,

lastly the men here bashing the film im fairly sure have not seen it which only demonstrates the animus towards women , guys its only a film , why are you so scared , what are you afraid of , women having the same rights you do does what to you or your masculinity ?

for those men who object to women who seek equality then your issues are far larger than this film ,

this movie is about women working together to overcome the likes of you who are so insecure you feel a need to bash something you have never seen ,

This comparison is insane and yes, it does do something to my masculinity. If women want to go around topless go right ahead, but don't tell me to desexualize female breasts. I consider it a natural, healthy sexual desire that is built into my biological structure as a man and you seem to want to take that away.

I can get sexually aroused by looking at female breasts; i don't do it everywhere, i'm not a pervert and it doesn't mean that i start dry-humping the closest thing when i see them. It's a natural response. They are sexual and you have give me a pretty good explanation to convince me otherwise. Are there any primates or other animals with breasts as prominent and with varied shapes as female humans? There's probably a reason for it, right?

do you get sexualized when they show african women w/o their tops on , why does the the african man get sexualized by seeing the exact same thing you see? when you go to the south of france do you walk around around aroused or is it no big deal ? equality is equality , you see insanity even though both illustrate discrimination , what if women had to sit on the back of the bus , and a women chose not to , would you say that is similar , what if a women had to wear a top when men did;t have to , would you say that is discrimination , read the history of when and how men took off their tops b/c it was illegal for men to not wear a shirt , then come back and talk

I wrote 2 other posts where i talked about some of what you're saying but i don't mind repeating it. And i'm no sociologist or anthropologist, this is merely my unresearched view on this subject which may be completely wrong.

What about people in colder climates? What is their perception of the body and specifically of the female breast? And is it culturally conditioned or not natural because of the clothes?
In another thread i responded to someone that mentioned a specific african tribe where women don't wear anything to cover their breasts, the Himba people. They are polygamous (the men) and have arranged marriages though. Do you think having arranged marriages (a cultural creation) and being polygamous, removes alot of the element of seduction for the purpose of mating, which i believe is one of the reasons female humans developed breasts which are so prominent and which come in varied shapes?

You may talk about the difference between sexual attraction and sexuality, or how animals are always exposed and that doesn't make any part of their body sexual (besides the genitals). But we are conscious about it. You might say a peacock plumage is not sexual because it plays no part in the sexual act. But a peacock uses it to attract mates for the purpose of sex and reproduction; the difference is we are aware of it, so for me that does make it sexual. Another difference is that we have culturally established a way more complex set of rules for courtship and we all have our individuality. But just because some morons can't control themselves and go into "Me want Jane" mode, doesn't mean the female breast or other parts of the female and male body should stop playing a part in our sexuality and sexual attraction.

Despite our conscious mind, there's still things that are imprinted in us. If men walked around butt naked women would probably look at their different size penises and their muscular built, and if women walked around butt naked we probably wouldn't look that much at their vaginas despite it being the sexual organ, we would probably look at their breasts and hips. We're different! We can't treat equality with such an uncompromising stance.

What this should be about is respect. And a responsible and healthy sexuality.

And want to know a funny thing? When men started to take off their tops legally, women movement groups actually protested! And it had mostly to do with the average men not looking that good compared to movie and magazine actors. Pretty funny, right?

So, you want women to be able to expose their breasts? Fine! You want men to NOT be able to expose their breasts? Fine! You want men not to sexualize breasts? Naaaah, you can't take away something that's imprinted in me. I think men would just be more selective about what they looked at.

i remember reading the national demographics magazine as a kid and the natives were topless b/c it was their culture , i don't remember it being sexual , so why was it ok to show native african women in their natural habitat and it not be sexual while white women in america was sexual , if its sexual it should be sexual where ever country its in and clearly national geographic magazine distinguished b/t the 2

What's up with this freaking insistence on other cultures?! Should cultures be the same everywhere? Why didn't you acknowledge my point on people from colder climates? I guess we can say all clothes are cultural, so let's just run around naked.

National Geographic also shows animals genitalia and them having sexual intercourse (i've seen plenty of lions getting it on), so is that not sexual? "Oh, but they're just animals, it's not the same." Well just for you, i looked up some african tribes. Google Mursi tribe for example (i'm sure there are others); the men alot of the time walk around completely naked, with their penis hanging out. I guess that means the penis is not sexual... That does it then, i'm gonna start a movement called "Free Willy" :P
Maybe we should do like in some cultures where they practice female genital mutilation. The clitoris is not sexual, who cares about pleasure? The vagina is for making babies, the breasts are for feeding babies, that's it!!

What's more important is that we treat each other in a respectful way, that we have freedom but also feel the responsability in that. This goes for every aspect of our lives and that includes sexuality. This is still a work in progress. Our relationships are more complex, and that's definitely cultural. But our bodies developed long ago and there was a point to it. When does the female breast start developing? In puberty, as in SEXUAL maturity. We don't really know why the female breast developed the way it did, my guess is that is was sexual, as a way to attract mates. My lizard brain responds to them. There needs to be a balance between our genetic inheritance and our culture. It's also cultural that we allow kids to grow, develop and learn about their sexuality for a longer period of time and that we try to protect them. I actually think it's important that there's kinda this "mystery" about our bodies (and i'm not talking about women wearing burkas, please don't twist my words). Men are more visual, i think this is pretty much acknowledged by everyone. We respond to pretty much every part of the female body, although different cultures at different periods will cover or uncover certain parts. I acknowledge that it's kinda dumb that it's mostly the nipple that sets people off when it is KINDA the same on men and women (although the nipple on women can be more protuding and the areola bigger), but stop blaming our culture for everything that's wrong with sexuality and don't turn this into a equal rights fight.

Do you realize that erectile dysfunction is growing among young men in western cultures? There's so much stimulation around (don't get me started on the amount of porn on the internet, alot of it pretty f*king disgusting...) that alot of them are having trouble "responding" to women in real life. I think there's a problem with the way our society sells sexuality and some guys are morons who try to act alpha and like women are inferior to them, but please don't let that interfere with the way other men view women. I love women. Alot of times i view their bodies in a sexual way. Sexual is not dirty. I don't drool, disrespect them or try to make them uncomfortable. I acknowledge the person, i understand everyone has their own life, their own struggles and thousands of thoughts going through their minds. We're different, we gotta stop trying to make that look like such a bad thing.
