Astounding

This guy's "marketing" ideas are astoundingly poor. Where did he go to business school? "Stupid U." probably.

Just one example of his inappropriate/embarrassingly-uninformed "ideas" is to flavor a type of yogurt as "poo." Yes, it is exactly what you are thinking of - feces. Predictably, the idea does not go over well once customers taste the strangely-flavored yogurt. Admittedly, his strategy was to cause controversy in order to attract the curious and not necessarily to create a yogurt that had a pleasant flavor; in my opinion, though, in order to retain customers, the product must be at least acceptable. In this case, it was not.

Several of his other ideas are equally amateurish, but at least he uses novel approaches. Overall, though, he should do more research on targeting the correct demographic and looking at the dynamic of marketing and retention.

Do you honestly think Nathan is serious?

reply

Oh man I hope this show makes it to season 2! Original and very funny!

reply

Yeah i enjoyed it too. The ben show was funny as well.

I love how the first ever post for this show is someone trying to troll.

FYI: When I posted here, this forum was a ghost town. What troll would seek a reaction from a place where no one was posting? Your logic is flawed. I suggest you seek greener pastures, troll.

When Comedy Central wrote a show called Nathan for You, I said to myself that that is a show that will be blowing up your telly. You can take it from me --I know that this is a show that will be blowing up your telly.

This show is very funny because of business and how you can learn to do it. You can also learn many other important things as well.
A thing that this show is about includes going to not well known businesses and making them well known using business strategies. One thing that this show does not include is you not being funny --You can take that to the bank.

For someone who claims to have a genius IQ, you clearly don't understand that this is a comedy show. Didn't the fact that it's on Comedy Central give it away?

Genius my ass.. you're a moron.

The name of a cable channel often has nothing to do with its content. For example, "The Learning Channel" is the home of such shows as "Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo." I became aware of this type of thing when "Star Trek: The Next Generation" reruns started being shown on the supposedly-country-music-oriented "The Nashville Network" years ago. You might want to try paying attention to things around you more. You might learn something.

So your defense to being an idiot is that you didn't care that it was airing on Comedy Central? That you just went ahead and assumed it would be a serious show?

Well, ok, let's for a second pretend there's any truth to that. Then tell me this.. didn't you actually see the show? How could you not realize it's a comedy from the moment you saw it? Are you that thick skulled that you can't tell a comedy from a serious show?

Or let me guess, you probably didn't even watch it, right? What defense do you have? Seriously! I'm curious now.. because you just come across as a huge buffoon. I find it pretty funny that you think so highly of yourself yet all I'm seeing is a bumbling fool who has nothing better to do then trash a comedy show because he didn't even get it. Just admit you were wrong and move on already.

Also, I'd like to point out that TLC no longer stands for The Learning Channel, they're either trying to get it changed, or already dropped it, so your argument is invalid regardless. You're either a great troll or I feel genuinely bad for you.

This show is actually pretty amazing.

but Comedy Central still shows all comedy.

Comedy Central has a show called Nathan for You. In this show, a guy goes and does things that I think you can learn from. The most important thing that you can learn from is how to be funny. If this is not an important lesson for you to learn, the next important lesson that you can learn is how that he is funny and you are not.

Take it from someone that is --by being someone who isn't and then becoming someone who is.

I thought the first episode and his ideas were hilarious, mostly that the businesses bought into what were obviously comical suggestions. I hope nobody would honestly believe that his marketing ideas are sincere... He's a comedian, it's a comedy show. Even so, I'm sure the businesses featured will all see a major spike in customers now that they are forever engraved on television in memorable ways.

HAHA yes Poo flavored yogurt was a serious idea....I think you missed the point of this show. I thought it was hilarious and am glad comedy central is doing some more unique stuff other than the obvious sketch show formula they usually roll with.
