This show would have been MUCH been NON-celebrity duets

When I first heard about this show, I was assuming that people who did Duets at bars or whatever tried out to be a winning duo on this show. But then found out they would sing with some already established performers. I watched this show 2 times so far and I noticed that most of the songs are R&B, they are almost all slow and I'm already seeing favoritism of certain contestants over others. I have it as background noise now. I can't get into it.

I think ABC had a great idea but the concept doesn't work.

I think that they should have just had the singers be the judges of duets by unknown people. Kind of like American Idol but with duets. Not someone singing a song with artists out singing now.

Are there any singing shows that aren't glorified kareoke? I want a show where they sing original music.

That would be great too.. But won't happen because then the already rich and famous won't get their royalties

They had a show that had the contestants write and perform their own songs. It was called Platinum Hit and it bombed, unfortunately. It was epic! I liked it!

There's been numerous shows on both CMT and GAC where the contestants both do covers of famous hits while also writing and singing their own. CMT had the original "Can You Duet?" which featured non-celebrity duets, with the winners getting a musical contract. I loved that, but I also love this. I just hate the way the voting is set up.
