Syd Barrett

One of the main selling points of making this album into a documentary is the haunting story about Syd showing up in the studio while they were working on this album, of all albums, since the title track is about him.

I've never heard any explanation, however, of just what Syd was doing there, and how he came to come into the Pink Floyd recording studio. Apparently he had done some work of his own at Abbey Road previously, so it's not unusual that he might be there, I suppose. But I wonder if someone tipped him off "Hey, your old band is recording an album about you, why don't you pop in to see them"? Who let him in to the studio? Or did he just sneak in? I've never heard any of how he came to be there explained. Maybe nobody knows.

I don't think anybody from this documentary could've explained that. They just saw a large, weird man standing there. When I saw that photograph - I haven't seen it before - I couldn't believe it, it's really incredible what that man turned into. Very sad and shocking.
