Cute and fun, in spite of its flaws

I went and saw Sherlock Gnomes this morning. I thought it was a cute, fun movie. The story is fairly simple: garden gnomes are being abducted and Sherlock Gnomes is investigating the case, along with his assistant Watson, and Gnomeo and Juliet from the 2011 film. I liked the look of the film and all the colorful characters. The film has a good cast including Emily Blunt, Johnny Depp, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and James McAvoy. Despite the talent of the voice cast, none of the performances were overly impressive. They were alright, but no one really stood out. The film is a little predictable and the dialogue is cheesy and cliched, at times. In spite of those flaws, I still enjoyed it. If you are a kid (or a gnome) at heart, like me, you will probably have fun with Sherlock Gnomes. I rate Sherlock Gnomes a 7/10.

Would you give it 5 bags of popcorn in a hypothetical popcorn-based rating system?

reply

No, I would give it 3.5 bags of popcorn.

Good to know. Would you throw in any particular number of cups of soda?

reply

Probably not.

I admire your strict use of proper punctuation. On the internet the final sentence is often left without a period. Yet you defiantly flaunt these conventions. Perhaps you are the prophesied Chosen One.

reply

Perhaps, I am.
