Maybe this is best suited for "childfree" types

I couldn't get past the awful parenting in the first few minutes: yelling at the son, then writing those awful things about her baby. Yet I sensed she was supposed to be a POV character, a sympathetic protagonist. Since she had already blown any chance of being sympathetic in my eyes, I called it quits after seven minutes.

The kids were pretty annoying, so I saw where she was coming from.

are you one of those parents that think their child s-hi-t-s gold?

Oh look--I've summoned one! But you haven't used any of the charming "childfree" buzzwords yet. Don't you want to snark about "breeders" and "sprogs" (or, even more charmingly, "crotch droppings")? Go ahead, get it off your chest. ;-)

actually I don't have anything against children as long as they are behaved.
being a parent can be hard and sometimes it is overwhelming but just because you don't cuddle your child every time it does or says something annoying (and even your own children can be annoying) doesn't mean you are a bad parent.

"It"...ouch.

I do believe in discipline (though not corporal punishment). Both authoritarian and permissive parenting are bad for children, and society; the middle ground of authoritative parenting is where I strive to operate.

But while I no longer remember the specifics of the seven minutes of this movie I watched, if I am to trust my earlier reaction (and I do, LOL), it would appear that this balance was not achieved.

Ever been hit in the face by a baseball? Let's just say you won't be in a good mood. And the person that threw it would be on the top of my shi7 list, regadless of how much I loved him/her ten seconds earlier.

"Those things"? Yeah, a little wierd. But fantasy land is fantasy. Would she really throw him in the microwave? *beep* him? Come on. Have you never thought wierd shi7 and left it in your head?

Finally, you ever wake up confused in the CT, not remembering the last several hours? THAT can really fvck up your head.
