Abby and Sam

So i'm a little confused about their relationship- I felt like the two were getting a lil more emotional and had great chemistry. I really didn't understand their conversation when sam is walking her dog.

"I paid you enough?" bla bla....What was the whole point of that conversation ?

And do they still see each other on the side at the end- I say yes. The way sam looked over at abby and grinned.

Also was anyone confused by their last sex scene. Sam must have really gotten her extremely hot for her to have a orgasm by her not really don't anything but making out with her. :)

I kind I got the impression they were still going to see each other, from the "secret" part. Or at least that is what I'm telling myself.

reply

I understood that they each seeing each other ad well.

And yes! Even Sam was like ..did you really just have an orgaam from that..? She had to have been super into her.

I think Abby was going to continue seeing Sam & continue with the escort business as well. By the almost identical scene, towards the end, of Justin & Abby looking at another 'fixer apartment'. By Abby stating 'I'm gonna take a hot yoga class after this'. Eluding to Sam's workout schedule, told to her by Sam during one of their hookups.

Just remembered something from a scene with Abby & her BFF. Abby remarks to her friend that Sam is cute. Her BFF says "Sam is not a lesbian". Later at their first meeting Sam asks Abby: "so you think I'm cute?". That was a hint to Abby that Sam & her BFF were talking about her.

I may watch the film again. I'm glad to discover points of a film I previously overlooked.

It's best not to be too moral you cheat yourself out of too much life.

I have to disagree with everyone on Abbey seeing Sam. It looks to me that she trys to avoid her. Sam told her how many times she has called her with no response. I would like to see them together again but not sure that that happens!

I agree. Like so many married people do, Abby picked family, as witnessed by the dismay on Sam's face at final spin class and the final scene of KateandAbby in their suburban yard. Hot yoga is as good as it is going to be from now on. At least Abby has that. Sam is history. Sam has her guy, no matter how much taboo excitement Abby was.

I agree with Display of Loneliness review that the film is basically a commentary on how stable but boring life is in affluent circles. With an adventure and sex scenes thrown in so something happens in between the start and finish.

If Sam were history, Abby wouldn't be intentionally going to yoga.

Remember when Justin asked about Abby having an agreement with Kate? I think now that Kate knows about the situation and knows she can't give Abby what she needs, they have come to an understanding and Abby is still seeing Sam and possibly still hooking.

reply

Kate isn't coughing up the sexual enthusiasm it would take to keep Abby content at home but I can't see Kate going for an agreement. Whoever foots the bills usually expects things to be on their terms. Kate would think they already have an agreement which is that Abby gets to be Mom and housewife while Kate foots the bills. Whatever they decided, Abby gets to whore in the apartments or Abby is a Real Estate speculator, at least no one is oblivious any more.

Was that another fixer or a replay? I'm twisting both ways, although I seem to remember Justin saying "again" in his comment.
