The 'What would have happened if the show hadn't been canceled?' thread.

I'd like to think that Dracula destroyed the Order of the Dragon, perfected free wireless power, had lots of sex with Mina (who became immortal without becoming a vampire), found a way to stop the spread of vampirism, killed Harker and Van Helsing (the look on Jonathan's face when Dracula strangled him and Mina looked on approvingly was priceless), and was remembered forever as the savior of all humanity.

That's not what would have happened, most likely, but since the show is over, we can make it end any way we want.

This is the glory of shows that get canceled without a finale. You can make up your own.

Considering this show's relationship to Dracula is analogous to Godlesszilla '98's relationship to Godzilla, I like to imagine a Dracula: Final Wars scenario where the real Dracula shows up kicks Greyson's ass.

I can't think of a witty signature right now. I like turtles.

And which Dracula would that be? There hasn't been a GOOD onscreen portrayal of Dracula in a long time now. You want Gary Oldman to do it? With the wig and everything?

reply

I was thinking of the literary version but hell, Argento's Dracula could wipe the floor with him.

The problem is Argento's version is played by this one's Van Helsing. It would confuse the audience. But sadly yes, Argento's version had better powers...

Rudolf Martin was decent in both the 2000 TV movie and Buffy vs. Dracula and he's still not that old.

Also we poke fun of Gary Oldman's version now but he only had that wig in the beginning. And his version won three Oscars. How many Emmy awards did this version win again?

And in a physical confrontation, based on supernatural abilities alone, yes, he'd win.

This.

LOL, clyons. Loved your version.

I am disappointed that NBC did not renew the show. If a second season is filmed for the British and Irish fan base, hopefully someone on this side of the pond will pick it up. If not, maybe Acorn will stream it.

Still, the season finale was a pretty darn satisfying treat for those of us who were fans of the show and found it to be a refreshing and sometimes surprising take on a much plundered concept (vampire lore).

I think that's it. They wouldn't be able to justify the budget without the American audience. If a cable network picked it up--but hard to see that happening.

Honestly, for an American network primetime drama (and on Friday, yet), it wasn't bad. But I won't miss it that much. And it was, in its own way, a fairly satisfying finale. Probably much more than a planned finale would have been.

Season 2

Dracula saves Lady whatever by turning her into the first of his brides. He later acquires two other brides, one of them possibly Lucy.

Mina and Jonathan fall out (this happens a lot on TV)

John Seward and Quincey Morris both make appearances. Seward is a former pupil of Helsing but rejected checking out dead bodies in favour of mental stuff.

They and Lord Goldalming (it was so much asker to write when he was called Holmwood) all try to get with Lucy who in turn wants to get with Mina. We probably get some lesbian scene between Mina and Lucy.

Renfield is saved but not through vampirism. He slowly goes crazy and ends up in an asylum with Seward treating him.

Helsing becomes a vampire slayer.

Whoever the Order of the Dragon is now, sends bad guys to kill Dracula but he kills them.

Dracula finishes his bride collection and gains the power to walk in sunlight.

Jonathan, Seward, Morris and Helsing all form an alliance. Goldalming is killed by either Dracula, Lucy or the Order.

Season 3

The gang kill Lucy. Dracula turns Mina into a vampire. The gang all chase Dracula back to his lair. They team up with Renfield who comes to his sense. Renfield is killed by Dracula.

Dracula completely wipes out the Order. The brides are all killed off. There is a final battle where Morris (or maybe Seward if they refuses to kill the only American in it) and Helsing are killed. Mina kills Dracula, curing herself. She marries Jonathan.

People will complain because Jonathan is such a boring character and would rather see Mina with either Dracula or Lucy.
