Does the show end with a cliffhanger? I'm thinking about getting the Blu-ray but I don't want to get my hopes up. ;)

A good deal is left open-ended. I hesitate to say more because I would have to spoil a good deal of the series.

I thought it left a lot, including the most important narrative threads, unresolved. But that was just my take on it.

Yes, quite a big cliffhanger, unfortunately.
The series was really good though, so I recommend to check it out.
