Why did Joss lie on the stand?

Why say Wilson let her go if she actually escaped? Wouldn't it have made the case even stronger against the guy if she admitted he assaulted her?

It's probably something stupid just like her character. I still can't get over that character getting with her sister's ex! Gross! Good thing they didn't have kids! I'm wondering though if there wasn't another perpetrator in this whole Lucca thing because she is all about self defense now as if someone is still coming after her! Where is Calista?

reply

I figured calista might still be in prison.

There probably is someone else. Since we never saw his face during the abduction and the look on his face it's possible he may be innocent. Remember the stalker guy when she
was trying to get the book lady's attention.

Not to mention he is 10 years older than her. Plus she knows every single detail that happened with there break-up, from the cheating, the loss of a child, to being Harry's messenger when Savi wanted to sell her house. She will spend the rest of her life explaining I married my sisters EX husband. I guess it's fine for her character but don't complain when everyone looks at you and thinks you are a sleaze.

Every time she says to April and Karen, I don't judge people, I laugh and think that's your problem...With your sister you didn't use any good judgment/reasoning/loyalty at all. That's how you ended up being engaged to her EX. LOL

I thought it was self-preservation. It's clear she has ptsd. She lied so that if he wasn't found guilty or got a light sentence he wouldn't be motivated to go after her when he got out.

It's called a hustle, sweetheart. 🐰🐱

I think she wanted to prove with this that he was sane during the attack so he could be held accountable for his actions in front of court and eventually would go to jail. If she says he let her go that will show that he realized the wrongfulness of his actions proving he was sane during the attack.

A lot of criminal lawyers use the insanity defense (or mental disorder defense) and base their argument on that the defendant is not responsible for their actions due to an episodic or persistent psychiatric illness.

This is good but I don't think these writers are that good, I feel it was more an oversight.
