Very proud of imdb'ers for sending this thing down

I remember when it was at 7.5 and at 92% on Rotten Tomatoes (unfortunately, that second stat will *always* stand). But I had faith in the imdb community, and I believe that it will go lower than 6.5 in a few years (hell, maybe even *this* year). There is nothing in it.
The fact that this thing is 15(?) percentage points higher than Wolf of Wall Street on Tomatoes..................... indicates something about critics.

It was such a meh film I didn't hate it but I also didn't like anything about it. Rob Corddry's supporting role was good but some things really bugged me like Lake Bell's character teaching someone how to speak cockney by doing an atrocious cockney accent herself it seemed like the whole film was made to showcase her versatility which I don't think is all that. The films a 5/10 at best

You gave it a full point higher than I. It was so boring I turned it off.

I would have given Wolf of Wall St. a much much higher rating.. but that third act to me was a mess. Maybe that really is the way it all went down and is true to the real story. But that whole last act just felt like a complete and utter cop out considering the rest of the film. And as much as I liked Dallas Buyer's Club, I thought DiCaprio was robbed on this one.

I actually enjoyed "In a World" although I guess not having seen a real trailer, I just knew some of the players involved and a general idea, I do feel a bit let down. The whole father daughter, sister and boyfriend drama really detracted from what I thought was going to be more of a look behind the curtain of a field in Hollywood we don't really see that often, the voice over artist. Was a bit disappointed that wasn't what the film was more about.

Sometimes, movie are rated highly, not because they are the best but because they are the most entertaining and had a wider audience- thus more people to contribute to the ratings. I watch all kinds of weird, wacky and obscure movies, but still have my guilty pleasures of mindless action or comedy movies.

Proud? People on IMDB vote on movies for all kinds of reasons having nothing to do with the actual film. Sometimes they give every movie a person is associated with a one just because they dislike one of the people. For instance, Woody Allen or Roman Polanski. Movies associated with them will get a lot of one votes disregarding all the other people. Obversely some movies will get a 10 because their favorite heart throb is in it. Although it may be a stinking pile.

I don't know everything. Neither do you.

In "The Holiday" Carmen Diaz plays a woman who is successful at creating Hollywood movie trailors with the aid of Jack Black. However, its a comedy and you won't really anything technical. Good cast with Kate Winslet and Jude Law though.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

Yah "Exchange" it gives trolls a feeling of power that they don't have in their daily lives. Proud? Please. I agree with the comments about "Cartoons" still having high ratings that they don't deserve.

You are looking at it wrong. Comparing apples with oranges.
Try rating the movie according to genre and time period, this way you can actually give a more accurate rating for a movie.

For example, you cannot compare The Godfather and In a Word the same way. They are completely different. I've rated The Godfather 10, and In a Way 9. When you start comparing those two movies, these ratings don't make any sense. A difference in 1 point doesn't make any sense until you start comparing them within their own genres.
In comparisons with other indie comedy movies I find that In a Way is a 9. It made me laugh, which unfortunately doesn't happen as often as i would like.

If i have to compare it with The Godfather, then it would probably be a 4. But the rating of 4 is no way near what i thing about the movie.

So yeah, something to think about :)
