The very best part!

It may seem like a little thing, and I'd bet many who watched the whole movie turned off their attention right before the very end. But ...

... she makes a point of teaching that new group of clients a better way to speak and project themselves, and she comments about women who don't sound authoritative and who "end each sentence with a rising tone that makes them sound like they are asking a question."

This has become painfully apparent, more so in recent years. Even though it is probably more common in women, lots of men do it too. It is a subtle thing, but when a person does that it comes across as their being unsure of what they are saying.

Anyway, I thought that was a high point in the whole movie, pointing out how much of a speech flaw this is and the value of correcting it.

Make a statement when you speak, don't ask a question unless you really are asking a question!

I asked my gf. People talk like that? Some of the characters with a baby voice I could never stand. I don't get out much but there's a lot of that?

reply

You're right about that. It projects lack of self confidence and low self esteem, so people subconsciously will put less trust in what you are saying.

I immediately thought of the Kardashians, well Kim and Khourtney...it's hard to listen to.

I agree. This is controversial, though: some feminists believe it is sexist to criticize women for speaking this way.
