How does Kristoff know who Anna is?

It's something I wonder about every time I watch this. Presumably Anna and Elsa haven't really left the palace since they were kids; does kristoff know who Anna is when they meet at the trading post? He doesn't treat her like he knows she's the princess, but when they're talking in his sleigh, he seems to know who she is as well as knowing about what happened with Elsa at the coronation ball. How does he know about any of that, much less know who Anna and Elsa are. I guess it's possible he recognized her from when he observed the interaction with the girls, their parents, and the trolls when they were both kids. But again, he doesn't treat her as if he knows she's the princess when they meet. It also kinda bothers me that no one at any point in the movie ever tells Anna what really happened when she and Elsa were kids - Elsa accidentally striking her head with her ice powers - and that being the reason they shut the castle and kept her from Elsa, and for the white streak in her hair. Kristoff remembers it, as well as Elsa obviously.

Maybe they talked during the time it took Kristoff to hook Sven up to the sleigh and pack all the gear.

Thanks Honey Bee. You have some great questions. As far as Anna's and Kristoff's early relationship - some clues, Anna calls him Kristopher when he never mentioned his name to her. So, I assume they greeted each other off screen.
Kristoff, having been at the head fixing would have already seen Anna and Elsa, knows who they are, knows their magic issues and knows Anna had her memories wiped.
Did Kristoff recognize Anna immediately? I don't think I would recognize a person I saw when they were 5 and then again at 18 but if she said her name I think his memory would trigger and it would have all come back to him.
You know, you should read the book Frozen #2, memories and magic. It goes into more detail about that subject of Anna's memories. We always thought Anna had memories restored when the streak vanished but the book indicates otherwise. Your local library probably has it if that's an option.
