I actually liked this


Hipsters with their borrowed/decontextualized spirituality experience the path to enlightenment as the veneer of modern life falls away. Power, communications, lights all fail. Even the 19th century miracle of canned preserves becomes a threat instead of salvation. They focus away from hedonism and toward more authentic meditation.
Main character's beard was ridiculous, though...
