So they were floating in the end?

How does living in a barn enable superpowers?

My eyes literally bore holes through the screen in those last moments of the film, trying to figure out whether they were floating or if they were all sitting but shot with illusionistic cinematography. I concluded it was the latter.

They were levitating. It's a yoga thing. Supposedly, superduper-ultra yoga masters can eventually achieve the ability to levitate. (As you can tell, I don't know much about yoga, but I do know that much.) They were levitating because they had all achieved supreme inner peace or something. It's meant to be a spiritual and uplifting (ha ha ha) ending.

How it was filmed, I have no idea.

They began the film practicing their half-assed hedonistic spirituality. Once their power, devices and food began to drift away their forced asceticism pushes them to a higher state of being, the apex of which are miracles such as levitation.
Another theory is that they ran out of food and options, and the floating symbolizes their deaths.

...and Mrs. Taylor sure seems to use a lotta ice, whenever he's away
