Fake suicide??

So towards the end a girl seemingly kills herself by cutting her wrist with a knife. Or did she?

Before this scene we see the girl cowering in a corner and a boy student grabs her by the arm and takes her away as if he has a plan.

The boy was seen before working on bloodied dummy heads, so maybe the slit wrist was just special effects makeup?
