Somethings I didnt get. SPOILERS

So what happened to Tade? The kid he went to get a drink with. Also what was that dream sequence with Vincent? Was that the old white guys name? It was really strange and hard to understand. Also the kids at the end, were they supposed to be the two Ravens? Supernatural aspect? Or was that all in his head as well? Also how did the two kids at the end know the defibrillator recorded everything? Not to mention they made a big deal about it recording everything in the begging so of course we all knew that was going to happen.

Did they walk around naked and randomly find it before the cops? The lead guy also said he dosent kill for pleasure like his ex partner/killer. SO why did he kill all the kids? I didnt really see a motive unless he actually thought he was working for Odin. And why did that a hole kid get up after the guy walked by him? Stay down man he thought you were dead! Not very smart for a 'smart' guy. Also Miya, the girl he thru off the roof is alive so does that mean shes going to be the new Evil in the next one?

The film was very well done minus the holes in the plot. It def had some really disturbing scenes. You really feel sorry for those kids. I could tell Miike was trying to get a message out with all the American references sprinkled around and not to mention that he went to Harvard. But I feel that most people definitely wont enjoy or understand the film. Of course thats understandable giving the content matter. :/

> So what happened to Tade? The kid he went to get a drink with.

He killed him, dead, kaput, in the back of the trailer and buried.

> Also what was that dream sequence with Vincent?

Most likely what he did in the US (killed his buddy, also serial kiler) and the reason why he went back to Japan.

> Was that the old white guys name? It was really strange and hard to understand.

I suppose the old white guy was either a mafia guy or someone who somehow had a link with his buddy serial killer.

> Also the kids at the end, were they supposed to be the two Ravens? Supernatural aspect?

No he fakes to see in them the messengers of Odin, a way to appear crazy when he'll next be judged; he fakes insanity. The surivor girl gets this, to which he replies "congratulations".

> Also how did the two kids at the end know the defibrillator recorded everything? Not to mention they made a big deal about it recording everything in the begging so of course we all knew that was going to happen.

You answered your own question. They had a course with the defibrillator sooner in the movie.

> Did they walk around naked and randomly find it before the cops?

They just knew it was in there somewhere..

> The lead guy also said he dosent kill for pleasure like his ex partner/killer. SO why did he kill all the kids? I didnt really see a motive unless he actually thought he was working for Odin.

He's just a serial killer, a psycho, he doesn't need to a reason to kill, he enjoys it.
He's barely looking for reasons to justify it.

> And why did that a hole kid get up after the guy walked by him? Stay down man he thought you were dead! Not very smart for a 'smart' guy.

It's a movie bro, the viewer needed to think everyone was dead up to the very end for the twist (2 survivors) to work.

> Also Miya, the girl he thru off the roof is alive so does that mean shes going to be the new Evil in the next one?

Who knows.. she's possibly still infatuated with him.

> But I feel that most people definitely wont enjoy or understand the film. Of course thats understandable giving the content matter. :/

I for one extremely appreciated not being spoon fed Hollywood style. I think more and more viewers are fed up with this as well and will actually enjoy this movie.

TheShadowRunner explains everything quite good..

I'm sorry if you didn't understand it, but I think that has more to do with you, as I understood it completely. It isn't hard to understand, and there weren't (m)any plotholes (unlike a lot of hollywood thrillers/horrors)..

I thought it was a great horror film in my top 10 asian horror movies. people forget what horror means, shocking, omg things, I love the psyche part the director made a great movie. I have seen a lot and own a lot of asian horror movies and this one is one of the best. if you think about a movie and if you hear a song from it and you always even think about that movie it leaves a impression. that movie scared me big time and if it goes region 1 pray to god nutty teens here don't see it. horror is suppose to make you say omg and remember the movie. i was almost in tears from that movie. you don't expect that he would kill all the damn kids, well tries too. the actor playing him was excellent and I don't see why people don't see how good of a good movie it was. it was frightening what he did. Maybe also people in the united states might think it is better then other countries because the horror is here.

Q: So what happened to Tade? The kid he went to get a drink with.

Hasumi got him drunk, had him killed, and carried his body in the back of his truck to the woods where he buried him.

Q: Also what was that dream sequence with Vincent? Was that the old white guys name? It was really strange and hard to understand.

Yes, Vincent. It's just Hasumi reminding himself why he couldn't go back to the U.S. His sub-conscious made it surreal and 'funny' (like his sub-conscious appearing as the eye in his shotgun later on).

In real world, he liked the U.S. as his personal hunting ground, but he sensed he was in danger of being caught, so he quit Harvard and returned to Japan before he'd be caught. Hence, his decision to kill the other serial killer, who was a loose end. He doesn't like loose ends - examples: he stabbed himself to cover up his role in murdering his parents, kept a mental roll call of students he aimed to kill, etc.

Q: Also the kids at the end, were they supposed to be the two Ravens? Supernatural aspect? Or was that all in his head as well?

Yes and no. He does see the glow in the girl's eye, but he realises he could avoid receiving a death sentence if he could make himself look classically insane. So he talks about god's will, demons and the like. That's what the girl is talking about when she says "He's started the next game." She knows he isn't being insane; he's calculating his next move by pretending to be insane. Even though he IS insane, but he doesn't believe himself insane. Twisted humour.

Q: Also how did the two kids at the end know the defibrillator recorded everything? Not to mention they made a big deal about it recording everything in the begging so of course we all knew that was going to happen.

It's true that there's no way the survivor would know that the recorder had recorded a conversation. For all he knows, Hasumi could have just walked in, killed the kids and walked out without saying a word.

But there is a close-up shot of a blinking green light in the device. Perhaps the survivor spotted the blinking green light and realised it'd recorded something? Who knows? But hey, it's only fiction.

Q: Did they walk around naked and randomly find it before the cops?

Weird question. No, they weren't naked. They had blankets wrapped around them when the police guided them out of school. Maybe you missed the sight of policemen?

On their way out with the police in the corridor, from the staff room towards the entrance door, they were walking past the nurse's room. The survivor probably walked in and while looking around for the bodies, he noticed the blinking light and realised there might be a recording.

Q: The lead guy also said he dosent kill for pleasure like his ex partner/killer. SO why did he kill all the kids? I didnt really see a motive unless he actually thought he was working for Odin.

He's a sociopath. He likes to think he's a moral crusader but really, he kills because he feels like it.

He didn't plan to kill all kids, though. They were a consequence of an incident that was out of his control. Remember, he doesn't like loose ends. He has focused 'bad' people only until the girl went looking for Miya on the roof. He realised after killing her, he can't explain her death. I

t's likely that he thinks, "Aw, *beep* it. Might as well to kill them all - Kumi (gay teacher), Shibahara (sexual harasser teacher) and the rest of Class 4." He wouldn't have decided this if it wasn't for that girl, who searched for Miya.

Q: And why did that a hole kid get up after the guy walked by him? Stay down man he thought you were dead! Not very smart for a 'smart' guy.

He was disoriented after getting knocked out. Don't forget, he didn't see who the shooter was. He was out like a light before Hasumi appeared and so, he thought Hasumi was there to save them.

Q: Also Miya, the girl he thru off the roof is alive so does that mean shes going to be the new Evil in the next one?

Up to you. The ending is supposed to be an open ending. You can interpret it however you like.

He was pretending to be dead.

The old guy is his ex-boss in the trading company, Morgenstern. His name is mentioned briefly when Tsurii is going over Hasumi's history on the blackboard. He is also a criminal, involved in all kinds of shady dealings, but like he says to Hasumi, the world is for the greedy sociopaths, not psychotic killers. Hasumi doesn't decide to return to Japan in order not to get caught; Morgenstern blackmails him after faking his colleagues suicide, to make sure he never returns to the US and never reveals the truth about Morgenstern's own shady dealings.

Hasumi doesn't kill anyone for any moral reasons: he's a complete psychopath.

Miya could dispute the testimony of the other two students. But there was the audio recording which would be difficult to dispute.

all he wanted to do was fake the girl's suicide to cover his tracks re: tade. after that he was probably gonna carry on as normal.

when the other girl found him on the roof with the shoes and the suicide note he killed her and needed a new plan in a hurry. the plan he came up with was to kill everyone and frame the gay guy.

You're talking about the kid with glasses? the one who said he needs to go to college?

Hasumin probably knew he was faking death, and we kinda see that when he looks at him on the floor. The kid probably also knew that Hasumin knew, and tried to reason with him.

His name is Hasumi, there's no n.
