In the trailer they show Jonah Hill punching a girl as hard as he can. I'm no feminist but that clearly was not funny. Why is it suddenly ok for this to be a joke?

If I wanted to watch women get punched in the face I'd watch a horror movie because it's not funny.

And if that work is punching a guy in the face, then they have the right to be punched in the face. As long as the pay is equal (or commensurate with their placement in the credits).

Watch the movie. You have only seen a clip from the trailer. Criticizing a movie over a clip from a trailer is one of the dumbest thing a movie critic could do.
You are so agitated and scared of seeing a girl being punch from a clip.

The girl is a criminal. She even shot a cop. Jonah hill fought w/ her and failed miserably where she whooped his ass. They even imitated Brad pitt and angelina jolie's film mr. and mrs. smith fight in a funny awkward way. Jonah even became a hostage by that girl. And was rescued by another woman.
So you are saying that a scene where a guy is being bullied by a woman in an awkward way is not something to be laugh at and can be categorized as a "horror movie"?
I guess you don't know the difference between a horror/suspense film and a comedy film.

The context helps make it funny, just knowing going into that scene that the whole setting is kind of slapstick and the two going at it are silly.
She's already made fun of him, crudely, talking down to him in earlier scenes. She's a drug dealing muppet.
And she hits him first. Hard.
So yeah it's not something you'd see in real life but that's not what makes it funny so much as the two of them already being comic characters in their own way and then going at a physical scene in the unexpected way. It plays off his character being inept anyway.
The funniest part is the breaking up in the middle of the 'fist fight' where she keeps accusing him of trying to kiss her...that lightens it up too and makes it funny.
