Movie or TV show?

I've got three episodes that last around 50 minutes each and a movie that goes for 2:11 hours. The movie was aired on BBC America. Can anyone tell me if there's any important difference between them? I guess I should go for the TV show, but I'd appreciate any orientation.

My favorite actor on this show is Iain de Cestecker - in my opinion the best actor on the show. I watched the movie version, but now I just watched the first episode from the TV show. Most of the time, it didn't make to much difference - they made tiny cuts on scenes that stayed in the movie version. But there was a whole extra scene. Of course, it was an Iain de Caestecker scene, and I loved it, so I'm sure to watch the other episodes as well. But even if you're not such a fan of Iain, the scene really adds to the relationship between two characters. Before that, some things on the movie seemed to come out of the blue.

I heard that there is at least one extra scene on the finale that explains a little bit about what happened with one given character. So, summing up, I think there are scenes to be missed in the movie, so I definitely recommend the TV show.
