US edit vs UK edit

From what I understand the US version was 3 episodes of 1hour each so without adverts they'd run 45mins for a total of 2h15m and the UK version is 3 episodes of 1hour each with no adverts for a total of 3h. The difference is much too big to be down to frame rates and such so is the UK version 45 minutes longer? Would it be worth holding out for the UK version?

Yes good question I was wondering the same after watching the first UK episode of 57.40 length aprox (ad free). whereas I have just finished watching the full American version of 2Hrs.11min (ad free). Am wondering if the american version was shortened.

What I simply don't understand is why they have to cut so much at all, when they could just add adverts and extend the overall length of the show as shown.

So much of what is on television is repeated content, that when they have new content, one would think they would take maximum advantage of it.

Yes, the UK version, in three episodes, is longer. They did it cutting little pieces of numerous scenes, and cutting whole scenes altogether. Some of those really could make things clearer, and has very good performances. Iain de Caestecker, in my opinion the best actor of the show, has at least two extra scenes.

Iain de Caestecker was the only reason I watched all three episodes.
