Authenticity?

Although this drama had its good and bad sides, it was enough entertaining for me to watch all of it, mostly because I like the Adlon hotel and am interested in its history.
However, it is clear that a lot of money was spend on this production and it seems like plenty of research was one.
That is why I am a bit confused about some choices the crew made.
For instance, the lobby looks absolutely nothing like the original lobby as seen on pictures from that time.
And they place the famous elephant fountain right in the middle of it, while it was situated in the Goethegarten, outside in a courtyard!
I wonder why they choose to do that.
Can't have been budget, can't have been lack of research (google Adlon lobby for 5 secs and you find pictures), so why would they do that?



Complaining about mistakes is almost as bad as complaining about complaining about mistakes.
