Like a cheap romance novel...

While my wife and I enjoyed watching it, it clearly wasn't up to the standard that you normally see on PBS as far as British drama is concerned. It really had the feeling of a cheap $2 Harlequin Romance Novel.

If you go into it knowing that it's not great drama, but simple escapism, it's worth the watch. Lots of over-acting. Soap opera storyline where you just want to jump in and slap the characters. But the characters were fun to watch. There were several hints dropped, and it was fun waiting to see what angle it would take at the end.

All in all, I gave it 6 stars. But if you are expecting this to be great British drama, you will be disappointed.
