Why did the butler and cook dislike her?

When Walderhurst brings Emily home, it seems that the butler and cook/housekeeper dislike her. The housekeeper especially makes excuses not to have to show Emily the ropes around the house. This was even before Emily invited the Oswalds to stay. Why did the housekeeper and butler dislike her? Was it just a class thing?

I think it was partly resentment that a woman of no particular breeding or society was suddenly their boss, and annoyance that previously they'd gotten to do everything their own way, and now they had a mistress to answer to.
