Not liking the opening so far. I'm curious to see if Charmcaster will be joining Ben's new team. With Kevin in Alien Force, and Ultimate Alien, they had a bad guy trying to redeem himself. Which made for some interesting threads/conflicts. Otherwise they just have Ben and his new partner travelling around beating up on bad guys. Ben's new partner doesn't seem like he'd argue too much with Ben. Gwen or Kevin would balance him out/argue with him when needed.
If Ben's got access to his old transformations, I wonder if Alen X is still accessible. They hacked a security override into the Ultimatrix to ensure that Ben wouldn't transform to Alien X in battle or have Albedo gain access to that transformation. But since they're both gone, that could mean that 1) they didn't build the override into the new omnitrix, so he has access to Alien X.
2) They built the override, and either kept the keys or they gave they're keys to Ben trusting him with the power/ and hoping that Alien X's other personalities don't trap Ben inside that pocket universe if he ever does transform.

I love Charmcaster but it makes me semi-nauseous to imagine what she'd look like in this new series. Looks aside what you've said makes a lot of sense, I'm curious what their ultimate goal is with this series, supposedly a lot of it is going to revolve around teenage Ben interacting with kid Ben. If that's true then the addition of another main character will likely make it feel too crowded.

Alien X and Gwen going full Alien were things I was looking forward to them exploring but both seem to be on the fence for now. There's also a few older characters I'd like to see revisited.
