Terrible acting, boring story

The way everyone's acting was (so deadpan, it seemed like someone was behind the camera with posters of their lines) and the shallow ridiculous storyline that was all about sex, and even the camera work and the cheap cameras they used gave the movie the exact feel of a cheap soft core porn movie that you would get late at night on The premium movie channels. Gawd! Sooo bad.
Apparently, James Deen was trying to break out of porn, but in the storyline, when he confronted the graphics guy who insisted he close the office door at 11:30pm when the office was empty, and then says to the guy 'suck my bick' with NO EMOTION AT ALL, I was thinking, poor guy wants to get out of porn but I can see he never will.
And it's sad to see that this is all LL is capable of now. Gawd! I couldn't enjoy the movie, not just because it was as boring and forced as hell, but I spent the film cringing and being embarrassed for the actors. I gave this film a 1/10. It was sad to watch.

I'm sorry you didn't like it. However this genre of cinema isn't for everyone. I would have to disagree with some of statements. Perhaps you had high expectations? It is important to understand what this film is attempting to accomplish. This was about relationships and how negative consequences arise from infidelity and selfishness. Using the backdrop of the film industry.

Yes I agree. Manipulation and deception themes were also present in the movie. I think viewers demanded a story more than understand the characters.

"With a side of heeby jeebies" ROFL!
And oops, I just assumes that James Deen-the porn star-would be the younger guy. I'm obviously not up on my porn.
Thanks for the correction.

I thought it was decent.

I think the films was OK and just not for you.

At first I was just thinking 'it must be so bad because of the low budget ness of it' but no, I can't blame it on that because Napolion Dynamite had a budget of around the same and the acting in that was supreme.
The Canyons just had baaaad acting. It was like everyone was on Prozac and had no emotion. Alas I'm repeating myself trying to get you to see what I'm saying, but there's no accounting for taste. So if you liked it that much, I won't be able to get you to see the bad acting that everyone's talking about. We'll just have to agree to disagree. Enjoy then.

I really enjoyed this movie. I've now got it on DVD. It is one of the best purchases I've ever made and I don't think it needs all of the bashing it's been getting.
