Yeah, I thought at first she was his date he had "met online" as he said to his sister but I guess that was just a cover story for his sister since he clearly gave her money plus "an extra thirty" as he said to cover the taxi.

I suppose he must have resorted to seeing a prostitute after having the relationship with Danielle not pan out as he had hoped.

But, I was further confused when they later showed "Kathy" which was the name of the person he told his sister he had met online and she looked just like the girl who was with him at the movie and who he paid. Kathy was shown in subsequent scenes to be at work in an office dressed professionally so I don't know if she was the one who was at the movie with him or not.

She could have been a sex therapist.... ;)

This thread explains a lot. I couldn't understand why he wouldn't give her the time of day.
