Ok, so did he cheat on her?

What did Chris do that was so horrible to Christiana? The only thing I can think of that would make a women as upset and miserable as Christiana seems to be is infidelity.

reply

Did he actually DO anything? I think she is stressed out primarily because they spend 24 hours a day together. That could stress any relationship. In addition, she said that when she is at work, she does not want to interact with him much, because it affects the amount of concentration she needs to focus on her job. Despite this, he continued to bring their relationship into the studio. I understand why he did, but Christiana specifically asked him not to do that.

reply

He must have cheated on her. There's no other explanation for why she is so cold to him.

reply

I think she's jealous of him having more responsibility in the company than she does. That and he can't kiss her butt as much as he use to.

reply

I get the feeling that something is being left unsaid when they talk about their relationship to the cameras. I think it's something more than Chris JUST spending a lot of time at the studio.

reply

We never know what went on behind closed doors, but what seems so ridiculous to me is how bitchy she's being to him. He was being sweet to her, asking her about her injury and trying to see if she was okay, and she completely ignored him. She was acting like a pouting 2-year-old. Cold and bitchy if you ask me, and completely unreasonable.

reply

She already seems to have it in her head to leave him so why prolong it. If she's stupid enough to listen to women who can't keep a man she needs to be alone. See how she likes that.

Honestly, I think this thread should stop.

Well, I made one comment and then did stop. But since you replied to me, I'll just say this: We're just discussing a "reality" TV show presented to us with obviously manipulated and manufactured drama.

Believe me, I don't really care about all the personal life crap that your Producers are giving us. I just want to see lots of great ballet footage. I never EVER watch reality TV shows. The only reason I'm watching this is for the dancing.

If I were Christiana, I'd be pretty pissed off about how she's being made to look this season. Because yes, she is coming off as cold and unreasonable. They did the same thing to Allison last season.

But like I said in my last post, we as the viewers only know what the creative editing is showing us - not what was really happening behind closed doors.

You should use some of your clout at Ballet West and tell them to give the viewers what they really want! DANCING

P.S. Do you guys have Manon or Mayerling in your rep? Would love to see one of those amazing ballets on the show next season.

reply

1. If the subject of cheating has not come up in the show, then it didn't happen, the producers would exploit that.

2. Ballet West has no say in what is put on the air.

3. I have zero pity for other cast members, I warned them many times on how to behave in front of the camera.

4. Perhaps instead of waiting for a Season 3, you should come see us perform live, I assure you it is a much more delightful experience.

Thank you for watching the show! :)

. Of course, nothing on TV or film can compare to a live theatrical performance. I rarely make it to Utah, but hope to cross paths with Ballet West one of these days - perhaps on tour in LA,San Fran or NY. I see just about every ballet company that comes to town and have for many years. The best thing about your show is that people who would otherwise never have gone to see a ballet live, might be encouraged to do so after watching. There's no more beautiful art form than ballet!

I took my first ballet class at the age of four and danced until I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 29. I miss it every single day.

Who knew having a cast member on the boards would kill the fun of discussing the show. I don't expect absolute "reality" from reality shows. If I want to throw theories out there I don't need someone telling me to stop like I'm doing something sacrilegious. Get over yourself.

reply

I understand what you're saying but I also understand Rex's reaction. For you these people are complete strangers. you will never meet them and they'll never know who you are so it's easy to say whatever you want under the veil of anonymity.

For Rex, he's reading sometimes scathing remarks about people he works with and cares about.

It's just a reminder for all of us to not be so mean-spirited. message boards tend to go that way more often than not and it's a real shame.

reply

And on the flip side you put your whole life out there to be dissected when you go on a reality show.

I love the dancing. And like you said in one of your previous posts Erika, I am one of those viewers who has never seen ballet live, and am inspired to go and see a live ballet now.

But, what drew me to this show was the reality format. And I'm not going to feel bad about commenting on the dramatic story line that the producers are presenting to us as viewers - especially considering this is a public message board intended for conversation! Is the story line misleading? Honestly, I'm not too concerned with that. I tune in to be entertained and I have no problem admitting that.

reply

I get it. And I've never seen you post anything scathing or disrespectful, you're just posting observations. There's certainly nothing wrong with that.

This was a much bigger problem last season when posters were attacking the dancers personal looks. It was really just cruel And uncalled for.

reply

I was on the board WAY before I became a cast member, and I am telling you to stop because these people are in fact my Co-workers and nothing like that has come up, so I would appreciate it if this pointless thread stopped. I think you would do the same for someone you consider your friend. Get over yourself.

reply

Does Ballet West ever go on tour? I'd love to see a performance, I'd love to take my daughter as well (she's a little dancer herself :) ) and my son (holding out in the hope that he may be too, I just figure as a boy I have more time, boys can start training a little older and still have a chance, right?) Going to Salt Lake is a stretch though. At least for the next year and a half.

edited to add: I just need the company to perform in California, I could manage a trip to San Fran or the LA area

reply

After watching the episode tonight, I still think it was infidelity. Nothing else makes sense unless they were constantly fighting off camera. But then normally you wouldn't be so vague about that. You'd say "We just do not get along anymore and fought all the time." Both were being very vague. And the level of bitterness and annoyance Christiana treats Chris with suggests he was the one who did something wrong.

reply

I have to agree with Rex on this one. If that were true they would've shown it. I think they just grew apart. Both are very career driven and sometimes it happens.

reply

You have to remember too that he was also the director of Ballet West II, which had to take up a lot of his time. He has always seemed so sweet to her that it does make it seem as if it's her fault.

And he did say something last week about having to deal with a broken heart, so maybe he is regretting whatever has happened. It seems like they could have filmed around them if Chris and Christiana had indicated that they wanted to keep things private. All it does is make us think the worst. If I remember correctly, Christiana said that Chris was spending more time at the studio doing other things (like teaching Ballet II) and keeping up his own career than spending time with her. Hope they can work things out.

reply

The end is seams. Spend more time dancing and less time on here Rex.

reply

Rex, you're an amazing dancer and a good friend, but Christiana laid herself wide open for this by talking to the camera both alone and with Allison so much. She came across as selfish and whiny, while Chris, who said little to the camera, came off much better and garnered our sympathy. Allison knew how to talk to the camera without looking so petty, but Christiana obviously did not.

RUDE. I just got here but watched the show. It would have been fun to chat with Rex while it was still running. Not to mention, if I were a ballet dancer I would never even consider getting over myself.

I loved Christiana and Chris and was upset that they are calling it quits. From what I picked up, she wanted to try being her own self for awhile and not defined by a man. There could have been something else but that is none of our business. Of course a chat board would naturally go there and yeah it's fair game but also easy to understand why Rex would get miffed about it.

"Hi Mrs. Cooper, it's Penny. I think I just broke your son."

reply

If the problem is you're growing apart, that means you spend more time together to fall in love again, see if the sparks are still there, etc before you give up. Christiana didn't seem willing to do that.

reply

I was sad it hear about Chris and Christina, I was hoping they could work things out but I knew it didn't look good. Even though both probably had a part in what happened, I agree that Christina was the one who looked worse. It is sad that they were not willing to take time to work things out and/or make compromises to make things work or at least try.

reply

We really don't know if they tried to make it work. We only see a snippet of their lives and they may have sought counseling or talked things out off camera. I know they kept showing Christiana as saying that she just couldn't think of anything but her dancing and didn't even want to talk to Chris at work. If she was emotionally on edge, she could have ended up in a corner blubbering instead of focusing on rehearsals. Pretty tough to have the man that you thought you were going to stay with forever be there every day as a reminder that things went wrong. I hope they can find some happiness again with new partners.
