Luca Marinelli - 8; a vivid, charming, soulful, completely natural performance: the definition of lifting an average script
Thony - 2; decent singer but should never make another film
Supporting cast - 7; they all fit their roles adequately, especially the neighbours
Script - 5; nothing we haven't seen before
Comedic gags - 2; none of them worked
Cinematography - 8; the opening is beautiful

Overall: 5/10.

Hopefully Il capitano umano will be a return to form for Virzì.
