A few things

I can see what the director was trying to do with the story, visuals etc. A few things just didn't seem right with this one.

1. The married couple Michael and Rachel seem to have a 20 year age difference. It's possible but just seems unnecessarily weird.
2. Michael's acting like as an detective is irritating and overly dramatic. Maybe its just the script wanting him like that, who knows.
3. Many of the set designs appear to be made on a stage and the lack natural lighting makes things look cheap.
4. So many characters are overly dramatic with facial expressions going from staring blankly, frowning, mouth agape and back to staring blankly.
5. The overuse of closeups of characters faces to get their expressions.
6. The Hollywood backlots for the outdoor scenes are typical of a billion other low budget films.

The horror scenes are alright, for the budget. Kinda wonder why Dean Cain wasn't the lead in this too.

I totally get what you mean with the age difference when they were arriving in the car and she looks over at him, I was like "dang he looks old enough to be her father". Not only that all the "high school kids" look like they are all in their 30s. Really bad casting IMO.

1 Yeah, there is a significant age gap. 20 years may be a bit excessive, but it's there for sure.

2 The thing is, he is an ex - detective. That was explained at the start.🐭
