Things I Learned from watching The Appearing *Spoilers*

Towns of around 1000 people (according to Sheriff Jenkins), like Glenwood Bay, have large mental asylums.

When you walk through the main doors of these asylums, the first thing you're likely to see are rabidly insane caged guys that look a lot like Joe Estevez, shouting out inane things at you.

On your first morning at Glenwood Bay, you should always do what Rachel does ... check in for your first consultation with a therapist at the local mental asylum (see above).

Even though you might be still a reasonably young woman like Rachel and you grew up in Glenwood Bay, no one will recognise you for a very long time. You also apparently won't have any family members or relatives living in town.

When a high school senior goes missing at Glenwood Bay after attending a large gathering on the beach and all her friends know she went to the local haunted house, they won't tell the police that significant fact. Why? I have no idea.

Kids like Nathan, with obvious mental issues, can get arrested from the local mental asylum, no questions asked, with little protest from the doctors. BTW, kids like Nathan don't seem to have parents or lawyers. They just hang in jail, until they are killed off.

Michael is so unhappy, he doesn't smile once through the movie, even when his attractive wife mounts him.

If you're the local sheriff and your deputy's wife starts experiencing the same issues that your late wife experienced, in the same haunted house, you won't say anything to anyone until late in the movie, because that would spoil one of the movie's "great" twists.🐭

Very well put, I agree entirely.
