If you like fantasy and seeing men run about in kinky leather outfits slapping each other with their awesome big weapons while flicking their long locks in the wind while mysterious buxom babes run about a bit doing some mystical stuff, you may enjoy this rubbish. However if you have some sort of interest in real history, genuine Viking history or such, avoid this.
So you say it wasn't 100% historically accurate. What's that? A film which dares to use creative licence?? I'm shocked. I'm sure that's never happened before </sarcasm>
Why is nobody allowed to dislike anything? IMDb: where everybody gets their feelings hurt over opinions
Everyone is allowed to dislike something. But to come along spouting an opinion based on falsehoods, assumptions and arguments that imply the poster hasn't even seen the same film is just asking to be ridiculed, challenged, debated, questioned and generally an open season invitation.
Also, sometimes people want to know why you liked/disliked something and if your reasons are silly/inaccurate/foundless then you can expect ribbing in spades.

What creates the debate is when so- called "critics" whose primary knowledge of the Vikings comes from watching the Minnesota Football Team on a Sunday Afternoon, and start posting on IMDB like they work for The New York Times or Variety. Is this movie a Historical Epic like Gone With The Wind or Lawrence Of Arabia? No but it is not Transformers or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles either. If someone has seen and can compare it to another similar themed movie ( Pathfinder for example) and find flaws that is okay. Instead, they like to nit pick about dress, the kind of armor and even complain about filming in South Africa ( instead of Scotland) when at least the producers did spend extra money to shoot on a location that offered stuff like a spectactular waterfall instead of on a Hollywood or London Sound Stage, while most of the critics probably have never even been to South Africa. I simply happen to like the movie more than most ( especially looking at the scenery and Charlie Murphy ( although I still do not like that name for a woman)).
If it's comparable to Pathfinder it's rubbish, that movie raped History on a level that even 20 Bill Cosby's in their prime could never hope to achieve
