.. who killed the seven people? didn't it seem like that was something that needed to be addressed at some point?

My understanding is that they were killed in a crash pile up, and the brothers took advantage of the corpses.

The news said there was a crash and the bodies had disappeared. They just stole the bodies. They hadn't killed anyone before.
