she's home just hours after a c-section??

normally i would refrain from commenting on the timeline or something being unrealistic in a hallmark movie, since it is a hallmark movie... but really i couldn't get past the fact that she had a c-section, a complicated one at that, and was home not even 24 hours later.

Do you know, I thought the same thing. Not only that, the baby looked to be about 6 wks, the dog didn't look at all distressed when found, and what gazillionaire hires a guy to handle gazillions without even some investigation into his past. Wow! I was so looking forward to this movie and was so disappointed...I don't know how IMDB rated it a 5.6.

reply

Yea...she sure didn't have the worn out look one would expect.
Question: Who played the gazillionaire..she sure looks like the lady from Happy Days, but the lady listed in the credits isn't familiar at all...

reply

I think the imdb credits are wrong. Pretty sure Ethel was played by Marion Ross.

reply

Not Marion Ross.

Ethel was played by Donna Belleville, she's been added to the cast list. It looks like she's done a lot of stage work. The thing I wondered about was, as nice as it was to invite Ethel and her dog to Christmas dinner, who did all that cooking? Everyone involved was at or in the hospital or running all over town... 

Even though c-sections are in and out in a day or two nowadays, as somebody who had one, there's no way she'd be sitting up having dinner, and then the way she was sitting on the couch? Ha. Trust me, when you have major surgery like that, the last thing you can do is sit with your legs up to your chin like she was.

I was in bed for almost 3 weeks, and I'd have happily stayed another week or two.

Plus, there's no way a day-old baby is going to be cooing and laughing and responding. His rough delivery would probably have landed him in NICU.

Is any sporting goods store open on Christmas Day? I halfway expected him to have skates for all of them, including his sister.

I thought the same thing. Plus, her C-section came after trying to deliver for half a day with major complications. Yikes, what a glaring plot hole.
