Season Two Darkness

Who's idea was it to screw with the cinematography? Season one was beautiful. The coloring was rich, the saturation was bumped up a few notches, and it also looks like the contrast was increased a bit. The effect was beautiful.

WTH happened with season two? Picture was desaturated, and it looks like they physically made the picture darker. A LOT of detail in scenes were lost because of this.

I mean, I know season two's tagline was Darkness Is Rising, but come on. You don't change the fundamental look of a show in its sophomore year.

One of many mistakes that lead to cancelation. I adored the show... it's a damn shame that Lifetime didn't know what to do with it.

I think they got a new show-runner. Or a new director of photography, to make it creepier and darker. I didn't really mind the change of tone but it perhaps shifted too much. It perhaps should have been a bit more gradual. I think the idea was to make the horror/ witchcraft story first and romantic stories second, though the actual storyline didn't exactly follow suite. I still loved the season and i thought it had so much more life in it.

I agree. I miss it so. :(

Just started season 2, and omg the darkness is actually annoyingly distracting when you think about it. Its even pitch black in the library and effing hospital for God's sake! FYI hospitals in real life are pretty lit. They can make it a dark show, which I do like, without making every scene super dark colored
