Mengsk or Kerrigan?

AM I the only one who actually preferred Mengsk to Kerirgan after all the crap she did in Brood War?

reply

You might be, considering that Mengsk's betrayal was what set Kerrigan on her rampage as the Queen of Blades, a state of being in which her actions weren't entirely her own. The Overmind may not have controlled her directly, but between the physical transformation (and subsequent psychological consequences of awakening as a hybrid) and the telepathic link to the rest of the zerg, I can't imagine she was entirely sane with the entirety of the Swarm scrabbling around in her head all the time. Mengsk, on the other hand, knew full well what he was doing on Tarsonis; it just happened to bite him in the ass a lot harder than he expected. The Dominion became a fascist, totalitarian state under Mengsk's rule- and while we have more "on-screen" atrocities to attribute to Kerrigan when she was an agent of the Swarm, it should be kept in mind that Mengsk was in power for four years, giving him plenty of time to oppress the Terran people, order massacres (see Mar Sara), and otherwise be a generally terrible person.

So, yeah. Definitely gonna say Kerrigan.

Mengsk had to die. The betrayal of Kerrigan was unforgivable, and indirectly
led to all of what the could be attributed to the Queen of Blades.

Don't forget how Jim saved Mengsk's life and how Mengsk treated him after that. My favorite character is Captain Gerard DuGalle. He came all the way from Earth and sacrifice himself in protecting Earth from the risk of Zerg.

She was tainted by the influence of Amon so it wasn't completely her fault.

reply

Yes, she was tainted by the influence of Amon, so she had no self control, she was a puppet of what Amon did to the the Zerg Swarm.

And when she became half human again (because of the xel'naga artifact), what Amon did was gone from here DNA, so even when she became The Queen of Blades again (but stronger) she still had her self control, and all the feelings were back again for Jim Raynor, her true love.
