Plot holes

This movie is poor. How does a woman can take a small boy.son to Africa and expose him for malaria danger? We even do not know if he took pills. So after 3 days she is surprised that he is heavily ill and thought he got flu. But in the meantime she is an educated person who loves reading books. So she came to Africa without knowledge about malaria?
And her husband...In such situation, in real life he would probably leave her or cheat her but he is loyal and faithful...very unreal...
And malaria topic is treated here very superficial.
And yet this movie is sloooow....😒
