What is thought provoking about this movie?

I am serious. I thought this was garbage.
I consider Paresh Rawal a good actor and Akshay an entertaining one.
But what a total waste of talent! Paresh was mediocre and Akshay was all cocky.
Rest of the performances were pretty bad. Such unrealistic premise! If the movie could be more centered around insurance companies' policy of 'act of god clause', it could have been better.
I will give 1/10 for being different than the rest of Bollywood rom-coms, but that's it.

1/10? And only because the theme is original?
What a joke -__-
The story, dialogues, themes, all that counts for nothing? And the actors and direction and cinematography are so awful that they deserve 0 too ??

You should try to tend at least towards a minimum of objectivity. Because right now you have ZERO common sense.
You can dislike the film but to pretend the film is bad and deserves 1/10 is ridiculous.

Seriously, if you don't get why the dialogues have depth and are thought provoking, you should really try to develop your mind.
This film remains mainstream and really isn't hard to understand...

It manages to question men's use of religion, addiction to rituals, blind faith, supposedly spiritual practices, without promoting atheism and without being disrespectful of believers.

The first deep thought provoking thing is to show various illogical and even condemnable practices and traditions through clear, lively, witty dialogues.

The other big achievement of the film is to maintain a balance and not fall in some kind of atheistic proselytism.

Another well done thing is that it doesn't get too sweet in the end.
As Leeladhar says, faith is an addiction and most people are not god-loving but god-fearing, and they will soon go back to temples even if right now Kanji showed them what was wrong with certain practices that are mindless superstitions.
We know it's true, since the people supporting Kanji were quick to believe he had become a God and perform all kind of silly things, which was precisely the kind of attitude he denounced.

If you don't get that, you're the one at fault, not the movie.
