Better than the first one

I found it to be more enjoyable and better paced than the first one. My son however "liked the old one better", so it wasn't for everyone.

The first movie had a great concept. Don't know if it was original or not, but it was the first of it's kind I had ever seen. I thought this movie took that concept and gave it a much better story. It was just an overall better movie.

The original is better in my opinion.

I thought the original was pretty chaotic and messy. It was a good concept, but it wasn't well told. Zathura did a much better of telling the story than Jumanji. It was much simpler, and that really worked.

I really enjoyed this Jumanji. I thought updating it to make it a video game was a nice touch. It was just overall a much better way to tell the story.

I love the first and actually refused to even think of seeing this. My thoughts were you can’t replace Robin Williams. But my oldest who is a big fan of the original and Robin Williams encouraged me to see the trailer. I quickly saw I didn’t even need to compare the two.

I’d say the first was excellent and I love it!!! The second too was excellent and I loved it.

I'm thinking both films are sort of average.

It's funny how they talk in their interviews about making a tribute to Williams via this film - but really, this was far from being one of his best films.

Dead poets society, awakenings, good will hunting - those were all great films worthy of an oscar - jumanji was a b-flick and nothing more.

Yeah you're right. As a teen in the 90s, Jumanji was never seen as anything more credible than a Pauly Shore movie. It was cringeworthy and I wouldn't have been caught dead seeing this at the time.

This remake on the other hand didn't take itself too seriously, while still touching on some good themes. It was way better.

Just watched this last night, the original it has been ages since I've seen. I found this one very enjoyable and better than the original. Actually being in the jungle setting fighting off the dangers to me is more exciting than a mixed herd of jungle animals stampeding the hallway of a mansion or the suburban streets.
