When Michael is looking for the dog he calls the dog she. Then later on in a flashback video of the wife she calls the calls dog he. Such a simple but irritating miss. I was really pulled in by the story, & the lead actor made it feel real for me. I have willing suspension of disbelief for a lot of crazy stuff, but damn these people should know what sex their dog is! lol
I was more bothered with his carved hexagram, when he started carving/cutting himself he did it up above his left chest and then he cut his right chest just at the same height, in the morning his hexagram is in the middle-left side of his chest? What the heck? O.o really?

Some people inherently refer to some animals as either he or she, regardless of their actual sex.
My dad would always refer to our dogs as "he" and we only ever had females.
It took forever for us to break him of that habit but I'm pretty sure he's over it now. Now that he's on his 60's! LoL
So maybe these people were like that? One of them anyway.
Maybe the dog was bisexual victoria-dawn? It could be that. Also maybe it was born with both a penis and a vagina? That could be the other reason it was called a he and a she. Anyway ...
