Have no idea why this was rated so poorly

I just watched this last night, by myself, and laughed A LOT.

Muppets jokes are often old, corny jokes. This had some more sophisticated jokes, right from the beginning. The sequel song had concepts that little kids wouldn't get, there were inside jokes, etc.

I thought it was very funny.

It's a solid film, very entertaining. People are just overtly critical these days, you can never trust another persons opinion about films now, better to make your own mind up about them :-).

This one got good rating and strongly positive reviews. Response appears to have been a bit tepid, however.

As for me, I rated it ahead of the 2011 movie. That film wasn't nearly as good as the critical acclaim suggested. I thought the previous movie was the second weakest Muppet film.

I agree, in fact it was one of my favourite films of that year. I loved the songs and laughed a lot. Much better that The Muppets in my opinion. Most of the reviews seems to be on the negative side, they are crazy!

I think there were some good jokes, but they missed out on some good ones. How about this:
Kermit comes out at the beginning of the gulag review and says this, "You know, being here isn't as bad as I thought. I can see Alaska from the window of my cell."

If you have to put down Jim Henson's work just to defend this movie, then it's so not worth it.
