Couldn't stand this movie

Which I feel guilty about because I do like the muppets! I really liked the Wizard of Oz one from a few years ago and I liked the one with Amy Adams... but this one... am I the only one who felt like this was a big miss? I didn't really find it funny. And I'm all for candy fluff entertainment but I just couldn't get into it. The one thing I will give to this movie is the Chorus Line spoof was pretty great.

Yeah, there's something about the comedy in this that was really off, and bothers me more and more as I watch it.

The saving grace is the soundtrack. Has by far the best musical numbers in a muppet movie.

Yeah this movie was a miss for me

Yeah same here. There was something off about it and it was mediocre. A couple funny moments but for the most part it was pretty boring. The songs were pretty bad too, what little kid is gonna want to sing that Russian prison song in an accent? None of them were very memorable either. We just finished it & I couldnt hum you a bar from ANY of the songs...

reply

Yeah, exactly. The songs don't do anything to advance the story. There is no feeling in them unlike the songs in The Muppets.
This film isn't terrible, but a miss. Maybe they needed to have Jason Segel around again at some level.

I think the problem with this film was the story. It relied on idiot plot too much, the songs weren't as memorable, the cameos were nothing, and I felt it was too long. They misplaced what made the 2011 film work so well.
Yes, the CL spoof was good, although it might've been even funnier to have Nadya sing "Dance Ten Looks Three" and when she gets to the line about "tits and ass" Kermit stops her and tells her they don't want a R rating.
