Connie, no :(

So I read the reasons for Connie wanting to leave are that she wanted to spend more time with her son and pursue other projects. Don't know what's true and what's not. I have been a Nashville fan since day one. I literally remember when I watched the first episode on my sofa in my old flat with my kitten.

I am heartbroken to say goodbye to Rayna. I don't think I'll be able to watch this week's episode because she is THE character that connects all the others. But I'm going to keep watching. There's so much hate about this storyline, but even if I don't watch this week's episode, I want to see where the writers go with everyone else's grief. Do we think Deacon will start drinking again? That, in my opinion, would be the most heartbreaking thing to see because he has to be there for the two girls. Also, what songs will they replay or perform again in the upcoming episodes? Hold on to me was one of the most heartbreaking performances in all of the series so far, Connie killed it. To see lennon sing this would be amazing. Let's stop hating on Maddie :( it's just so sad!

Several articles online have pointed out that Connie's decision to leave "Nashville" was politically motivated. Apparently, she was upset over the city's political views (Nashville and Tennessee lean to the right of the political spectrum), which led to her leaving the show...an excuse in itself that I find to be really lame. By leaving, she basically gave the middle finger to the cast, crew, and especially the fans that worked so hard to bring this show back. Like most Hollywood celebrities, she is also a die hard political activist that overwhelmingly backed Hillary and is still upset over Trump's victory. If I could, I'd tell her to just suck it up and move on. In my opinion, quitting a show all because you don't agree with their politics is absurd, diva-like, and unprofessional.

In summary, it is my firm belief that this show is now toast. At this point, I would honestly be shocked if it were renewed for a sixth season.
