So disapointing....

I couldn't wait to watch this, I've been a huge troma fan for sometime now. Movies like "The Toxic Avenger" and "Class of Nuke em high" are so bad yet they have a lot of charm and heart to them. Then they have movies like "Tromeo and Juliet" and "Poultrygeist" which I think are genuinely great comedy movies, but this movie doesn't fall into either category, its just pure mediocrity. The humor just feels so off and non troma. Theres a scene where the main character sticks a feather on her hat and says "Macaroni". And that's supposed to be funny. The scenes with Lloyd Kaufman were very painful and awkward, like none of the crew had the heart to tell him that he wasn't being funny at all. The movie kept on freezing the screen to introduce a character, which really *beep* with the pace and didn't add anything to the story. And it seems so desperate to prove that its relative, I know that a lot of Troma movies reference societal issues at the time, but this felt so forced. References are made about Teen Mom, Justin Bieber, Trayvon Martin, Obamacare, James Holmes. It just all felt so out of place in a troma movie. And then theres absolutely no ending to the story, so you feel like you didn't even just watch a movie, but a series of terrible scenes crudely edited together. I have no interest in watching Vol. 2.

Yeah, it was disheartening to see this film. It wasn't funny at all, and the filmmaking aspect of it was just horrible. It felt as if I was watching dailies, and not a finished film. The editing was so bad that it made the movie near unwatchable.

It really made me sad, since I'm a huge Troma fan. The Toxic Avenger, Terror Firmer and Poultrygeist are some of my favorite movies.

Low budget film director, punk rocker at heart.

Yeah, It was really heartbreaking for me. I didn't realize that troma had fallen on such hard times. I was expecting something like "Citizen Toxie", a nostalgic return to a classic series that actually manages to surpass the original in terms of comedy and over the top violence. And I thought it might be just that, when Stan Lee's voice opened it up in a similar fashion. But it just turned out being so weak. It seems really tame to me, and its certainly not as dense with the over the top humor of past troma films. I think it just didn't have as good of a crew as past troma films, the people involved had no idea what they were doing.

This was just bad to be honest, it had one or two kinda-sorta funny moments, but all in all it just felt really forced and unfinished. I wish they would've released both volumes together and waited a little until they were perfected. It doesn't have any of the wit I expect from Lloyd. And on a side note, I love The Tiger Lillies, but why was like 90% of the music by them? It really didn't suit the film at all.
