The Howard

I was just wondering if the car, the "Howard", was based on an actual car. In case anyone else was wondering someday, I found this article which purports that the car is a "prop" car, but could possibly be based on something called the "GEM". Sure looks like it to me.

In my opinion, the car looked more like a a combination of a Smart car and a Kia Soul.

Henry Ford named his car The Edsel after his son Edsel Ford. The car was a disaster and failed after a few years. It could have been taken from that.

There was a Jack in the Box commercial that featured an "Aqua Car" a few years ago, I swear they look very very similar. You can see it here:

WOW nhead12000 - that looks way more like it. That has to be it. Thanks for posting that. So - why was it in a Jack in the Box commercial? Was Jack driving it?

Looks completely different.

It looks like a Renault Twizy to me but I could be wrong.

Reminded me of a Citroen 2CV, which in the '80's was the car your parents bought you when you were legally allowed to drive. Don't see them that much any more, considered 'classics' now!

It's too cerebral! We're trying to make a movie here, not a film!

I think the overall idea is very similar to Gordon Murray's T25. http://www.autoblog.com/2013/08/15/gordon-murray-t25-t27-microcars-production/
